I'm Free! FREE I tell you!
Today my drama club kids and I struck our set today ending the play I have been working on for four months.

YIPEE!

I was out four to five hours every night for rehearsals (after working an 8-hour day) since early October. We had one kid leave to take a part in a professional show (I had to recast three parts), two kids had surgery, one kid decided to moon other kids last week and was suspended for a week and a host of other problems.

They did well...the play was stage version of the movie "The Sting" and while I am proud of all 38 of them, I am FREE AT LAST!

Now to dig out a beer and watch BSG tonight. :bounce:

1. Dang! That's a huge commitment.
Congrats! :toast:

I'm going to check out some drama classes for my first grader. She is a born actress, IMO.

3. It is great to let your kids
explore their creative side. Try to find a local theatre group that specializes in working with kids and doesn't pressure them too much.

2. Congrats
Sounds like a lot of fun and a lot of work. My hat is always off to people like you who give their time to introduce kids to the arts.

Enjoy that beer and your freedom. :toast:

4. It is all worth it when it comes together, they get
the laughs and applause and you see them beaming during curtain call.

That is why I do it.

But boy, am I glad we finally finished....
