Woohoo! Just got off the phone with a woman I've been friends
with since 4th grade!! She has lived in Utah for the past 20 years, and it's been a long time since I've seen her, but we're still good friends.

It was so great to talk to her, though we were cracking up thinking, "How the hell did we get to be this old?" Her son got married in September, and my daughter is getting married in March.

It was so great to talk to her! :woohoo:

1. That is great!
I got an email from a friend from college who I hadn't heard from in more than 20 years...really feels good to reconnect, doesn't it?

4. It really does.
The great thing is, no matter how long between times that we talk to each other, we pick right up as if it were only yesterday that we talked.

2. Isn't it great to touch base with an old friend?
I have a friend who I've known since I was 8. We've lost touch for a number of years several times but always seem to find each other again. It's comforting - she's one of the only people who knows what I was like then and when we re-connect, it's like no time at all has passed.

We just recently re-connected after about 5 years and it was great.

5. That's exactly how it is with us.
It's like a touchstone.

3. That's Cool Sis
I've recently made some contact with a group of old friends of mine from college days that I hadn't talked with for about 12 years since we were all at a funeral of one of our friends. (Kinda like a movie plot, can't think of it, was kind of big, and uh, chilly, but without the shower scene)

10. Yeah
sorry I didn't mean to bring a downer on your thread, I was just thinking about them and the fact that I've been in contact with them recently when I read your post and the rest just came out.

9. Yeah, The Big Chill
without the drugs and the shower scene (at least for me)

really just a sad deal as the guy either fell off, or jumped off (or his father and others think was pushed off) a cliff.

Found dead in a river below. Probably lived through the fall and died after crawling a ways in the shallow water.

He looked a lot like a young Al Pacino, so it freaks me out sometimes to see a pic of Al Pacino (Someone has had it on their avatar here) because it looks so damned much like him.

One of those deals where to this day I swear I think I see him places, or dream about him still being alive.

12. That's so sad about your friend, bro.
And I do know what you mean. My dad died 30 years ago, and I swear, sometimes I see him on walking by on the street.

8. That's so neat.
It's way too easy to lose track of people.

I'm glad you two are still connected.

14. I have a friend like that
Known her since we were five, but haven't talked to her in about ten years. Last I heard she had turned into a fundamentalist and if it's true, I just couldn't stand it. I prefer to think of her flashing on the dance floor and tokin' at the lake.

Is that wrong of me??
