things from Sacramento that are worth talking about, but War Pigs is one of those songs that's just too good to cover unless you really want to invite unflattering comparisons.

It's really hard to do a classic like that well enough not to be compared badly to the original, that's why the original is a classic. Pearl Jam did it with Masters of War, but it's a rarity.

6. Wow, what a grim video. That's the first time I really thought about the old A-bomb's power

We've all seen that A-bomb footage from the 50s testing period. Normally it's only shown a couple of seconds at most, long enough for you to see the mushroom shape. But this vid hung onto the footage for an extra couple of seconds, allowing the viewer to see that old destroyer in the foreground and give you a sense of the size of those explosions. That ship looked like it was parked about a mile from ground zero and still it only took the mushroom blast a couple of seconds to engulf it.

That level of destructiveness is crazy massive. What a marvel and waste our best technology is sometimes.

11. BBC did a documentary on Hiroshima a while back,

the footage and CGI recreation of effects of the bomb are amazing, as are the interviews with the bomb crew ans survivors. Horrific, but just stunning.
