The world is usually hard on me, so by pretending to be hard on myself I often disarm those who would attack me. I am not any more popular off of DU, but at least I have found/created a niche where most people leave me alone, which is often better than the alternative.

But I also like to face facts. That I am not popular on DU. I disagree with people's cherished beliefs and chide them for their prejudices and tell jokes that people do not get because they are quotes from a Zelazny story that only 14 DUers have read and twelve of those have forgotten it.

My last three threads on DU have gotten a whopping total of 5 replies and probably 25% of the replies I get include not just disagreement but disparagement. Sometimes that seems closer to 80%. So for me to make a joke about it is not me being hard on myself. But I do appreciate the attention :blush:
