How ya all doin there in the Valley-of-the Moon What-the-Hell-is-With-all-the-White-Stuff?

Sending warm thoughts and putting a kettle of soup on.

1. I'm not from MT but I do live in AZ
and it's been frickin' cold here! High's in the 40's and rainy. Yuck! Luckily no snow at my house.

But it'll be hot soon enough. Very, very hot! It's what I live for. :hi:

4. I'm in the Phoenix area so it wasn't as bad here.
A few roads were briefly closed this morning because of ice but I think Tucson got it much worse than we did here.
I used to live in Tucson though. Great city!

6. OK, rub it in.
In my part of Tucson (Prince & Campbell),
we didn't even have an inch of show.

BushDespiser12 had much more:

Here is a before and after comparison of the Catalinas from the UofA campus:

P.S. I'm having clam chowder for lunch.

For winter views I favor the Glacier webcams:

10. Yeah, my Wayward Daughter lives around a couple corners from ya
She had the drapes closed, watching a movie when I called. Snow? Then: OMG.

Said the east side got hit much harder and my Sister out on the west side, a ways past Pima West said they had a lot and some fog too. Her dog was annoyed, her paws kept slipping on the balcony; doin the Bambi on ice thing.

12. I was a lot like the summer storms.
Some got a lot, some got a little.

Bridges were closed, Sunnyside called the day off, TUSD started at Noon.

Practice for Rodeo Day!

7. I'm south of Tucson
and had about 1/2 inch last night. Right now it's 33 degrees and we keep getting small snow flurries.

I moved here from the Sierra's in CA and was used to cold but not anymore.

11. Blood thins out fast if you spend a couple three years in that area
They call Tucson The Baked Apple for a reason!

Gonna call a pal in Green Valley and see if she needed me to send a snow shovel ;)

14. Your friend would have needed one
I'm in Sah a few miles north of GV and we needed one. LOL

I've been here for almost 6 years now and my blood has definitely thinned.

Have some sleeping bags covering our exterior pipes ready for tonight's freeze.

15. Deck the plants with outdoor Christmas lights!
I had my veggie plot looking like a refugee camp there in the winter of, hmm, must've been 94-95. But, when the lettuce crop in the Cochella Valley got hit and salad makins were $3 plus a head, I was giving stuff away to my neighbors!

8. Chance of snow gone, hard freeze still expected tonight
ARIZONA DAILY STAR
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 01.22.2007

The chance for more snow is pretty much gone from the forecast but the
National Weather Service is warning Tucson-area residents to brace for
another hard freeze tonight with temperatures falling below 28 degrees.

It’s going to stay cold today with highs in the mid-40s. The weather
service lifted the winter storm warning that was in effect about 1 p.m.
today and instead issued a frost warning that will last from 8 p.m.
Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday. A hard freeze warning will be in effect
from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Dense, patchy fog could move through the area until Tuesday.

havocmom, would you make some oatmeal and coffee for me Tuesday morning?
I already had my soup ready for lunch on Monday, so maybe breakfast instead?

:hi:

18. Formerly of both places
and now in San Francisco, I am horribly jealous of the snow.

It's funny; the last sticking snow in Tucson I experienced was almost (if not) exactly 20 years ago. It was my first day on an on-campus job and I was asked to drive a large truck to deliver newspapers around the UofA. Then it began to snow and snowed all day and into the night. Surreal experience. I still have the little space heater I bought that day, and it still works. :)
