I actually injured myself playing Wii tennis.
How stupid is that?

We played a few nights back and I chuckled afterwards because my wrist was a little sore. But it went away the next day and I forgot about it. Then Friday night we brought our Wii to my b-i-l's house and played for several hours (taking turns, of course, I didn't actually play for several hours straight). Towards the end of the night, my wrist started to hurt again so I asked my husband to finish my tennis match.

I woke up Saturday and it still hurt, so I was really careful with it. Then I woke up yesterday and it KILLED. I can type and hold a pencil, but other things like picking anything up, getting dressed, turning the car key in the ignition, etc. are almost totally impossible by myself. I think it's tendonitis so I have my wrist in a splint. If it doesn't feel better tomorrow I'm going to the doctor.

I work out 5-6 days a week with all manner of weight machines but I injure myself playing Wii of all things. It's doubly stupid because I am a graphic designer and my hands are pretty darn important to my work. D'oh!

1. That's what I like about the PS3 controller.
It's motion sensing too, but it's much more subtle.

5. True. Although my b-i-l has the PS3 and when he played our Wii he was very
jealous. His wife and kids liked the Wii better too, although the PS3 has the Blueray player. I like both, but I think I prefer the Wii a tad more. Only because I didn't feel like the PS3 was *that* much better than the PS2 to justify the expense. Of course my husband will probably buy one anyway.

I'll just have to wear a wrist brace when I play from now on.

2. I still can't find a Wii anywhere.
Granted, I'm not actively searching everywhere I can, but every time I'm out shopping at places that would carry it, I always check to see if they have one, and they never do. I decided I would wait until after the holidays to get one when the demand would diminish, but I'm getting impatient.

6. LOL. I know it's so weird.
First everyone was throwing their controllers through their televisions. Now everyone is injuring themselves! Hope you're feeling better soon too.

8. And P.S. You can laugh at my injury. It is incredibly silly, even if it does hurt like
hell. :eyes:

9. Actually, everyone I know who has one has either injured themselves
or thrown the thing across the room accidentally! Clearly, something is wrong with the design...

11. We only have the Wiisports and Monkeyball Banana Blitz so far.
That Rayman game does look super fun though.

13. I love ours. No injuries or damage....yet. :-)
We love all of the sports games. I found out that I'm one helluva golfer. :)

We're working our way through Zelda now.

I was one of the people who stood in line all day to get one on release day. I got the extra controllers then.

We've downloaded several older games and played them.

I'd say that Wii is much better than the PS3. I love the whole concept of it.

14. You need to take up a safer sport
Like juggling chainsaws. Or lawn-dart tag.
