need help : pussy gone missing !

my cat stopped eating a few days ago and I was going to take him to the vet this morning but he's disappeared. I can't find him in any of his usual hiding places but I left a window open.
I think he might have been dying as he's about 10 years old.
Do cats go off on their own if they are dying ???

But 10 years old isn't that old for a cat. I hope you find him and can get him to the vet.

hiding under the house..I had to crawl on my hands and knees past cobwebs to retrieve him..he drank a gallon of milk and now he's at the vets.
