Why are you proud of yourself today?
Me, it's because I haven't gone into any of the Super Bowl threads and said "Who cares?"

That is the first thing I'm proud of

Second thing is that I cleaned the house under an hour before my daughter's speech teacher came...all with a fever while cursing my so called husband for leaving it a mess knowing full well that I may have the flu. Ass. :grr:

9. Me, it's because
I'm already up to 1,785 of my 2,000 words/day goal. And I finished the section of the sweater that I'm working on. And I haven't mentioned that there are only 22 more days until pitchers and catchers report.

Oops. Scratch that last one.

21. I crocheted a sweater one. Well, kinda, it was a long rope, and then I laid it out
in a sweater shape and knotted it together with snipped pieces of yarn.

What does your 2,000 words per day goal entail? Is it just writing, or writing as part of a coherent whole?

98. It's writing as part of a coherent whole.
My goal is to have something approaching book-length and ready for rewrite by March 1. We're not talking "War and Peace" here, but for what I have in mind, shorter is sweeter anyway.

I finished crocheting a blanket before my granddaughter was born. Kinda-sorta...I finished it that night (but in my defense, I only had three days to work on it) and now I'm knitting a sweater.

I had to tear it all out and start again on Sunday morning. Third time's the charm, right?

I transferred all my favorite songs from all my CD's and downloaded a bunch more. I travel a lot for my job so it's going to be really nice not fumbling with CD's in the car anymore.

90. I don't know how.
i can only do it in real email. if you pm me i'll give you my email. if you want to see. over 200 people worked on this example which is 1/4 of the size of the real thing. I am happy with it.

won't consider it a yell.

113. it's the incompetence level...
I work in a newly-opened italian restaurant (open less than 6 months), and there have been certain problems in the kitchen that, although management and the workers TALK about how to fix them, never get fixed.

I'm a back-line production backup person, meaning that i run stuff to the line cooks all night, or, if we run out of pre-made stuff (we have a staff of 8 day-shift production people every day who make things to be used for the whole day's business), i have to scramble and make it, so that the customers don't have to unduly wait.

The things i have to rush together can be as obscure as a bruchetta blend without a specific herb (for a specific customer's request) to 40 lbs of fettuccine or a 10 gallon pot of marinara (because it wasn't on the day-shift "list")!

The small things i can understand not having... the staples i simply cannot, and the idiocy of things like that has me wanting to go into the walk-in cooler and scream my head off, especially on the weekends, when our wait for a table can be 1 1/2 hours.

The kitchen manager and i talk about this EVERY SINGLE SHIFT that i work, it seems, but there's never anything DONE to correct the problem.
