Online retailers- How long should it take to ship an order?

I ordered some stuff from a website, they charged my card the day I ordered. One week later they still have not shipped the order??????
Is this common?

1. No.

I've yet to deal with anybody who charges my card until the day the product ships.

I would email and ask what the problem is and if you don't get a satisfactory answer (ie; one you can live with) get in touch with your card company and do a chargeback.

I just e-mailed them and got a reply. They said they were "backordered" on an item but they shipped today. I wish they would have sent me an e-mail telling me this instead of wondering what was going on.

3. legally, they cant charge you until it ships.

if it keeps up, complain to your credit card company.
