3. well...it helped that i was able to get so close to this guy
they're much easier to photograph when you're within 8 or 10 feet of them

i'm not a serious photographer anymore like i once was. most of the shots i post are taken with a nikon digital point and shoot. hopefully i'll have the time and patience to get back into serious photography so i can get real quality images again. i've got an endless supply of subject matter here, i just need to get serious about it.

...but if you want to see green macaws, i heard them squawking on the sarapiqui finca on sunday.

i know a great place in sarapiqui to stay. rustic cabinas in a beautiful setting. cheap rates.

....but you can see more quills under his fur on the rest of his body as well.

..at least on this species.

saw a tamandua (medium sized anteater) this weekend and instantly thought of you. unfortunately it was on the road and it had been hit by a car and was no longer with us. i was very sad...what beautiful animals they are.

My son is going to be taking a course at the National Zoo for the next few weeks; so I plan to spend some quality time with their new giant anteaters while he's in class. :D
