I didn't watch the SOTU address last night. I simply have never been able to look at his disgusting, malevolent face long enough to sit through one. Instead I went to a hair appointment. I had a nice dinner. I went to the gym.
I've been going to the gym 5-6 days a week for 8 months or so now and I have a pretty good routine going. Last night was my night to walk on the treadmill at the steepest incline. I usually do this on the quieter, darker side of my gym, away from the televisions, but last night I ended up having to use a treadmill facing the television.
I was chugging along, about 15 minutes into my workout, my heartrate was at the level I wanted for my cardio workout. Then a news brief about the SOTU came on. After just a few seconds looking at that fucking asshole, I checked my heartrate and it was too high! I hadn't changed my speed or the incline, so I know it wasn't that.
Sure enough, when they went back to the regular programming, my heartrate went back to my normal workout level.
So that does it, I really cannot ever watch a speech by him. It's not good for my health. Unless it's a resignation speech. That might be worth it.
