Got time for some love advice?
Met this guy. My age. We're both very recently divorced. We have a great deal in common, so much it's scary, but we're both leary of getting into something serious so soon.

We started out going pretty fast, getting very close in a short amount of time, but we both freaked out. Now we're going to try things slow? Do you think that's possible? To go backwards in a realtionship? I'd rather have him as a friend right now, than to rush into something serious and get hurt again.

How should we proceed?

1. Well, if you're both on the same page, I think that's quite important
If one person wanted to slow down and the other didn't, you'd have a real problem. If you are both thinking about stepping back and assessing things together, I think that's healthy. Chances are, if the relationship is meant to be, you'll heat back up, and if not, you'll have handled things amicably and maturely. Friendships are really important too.

2. You can't go backwards in life, except on roller skates.
Take a breath, and stop freaking. Go out and do things with each other. Learn about how you each treat other people. Hang out together. find your differences, and learn from them. Have a good time. Enjoy yourselves - you've each had bad relationships and you deserve some joy.

It's serious, but not SERIOUS until you start combining finances, sharing keys, or living together.
