Welcome to dinner with blondeatlast. You are ALL invited--but you better
make some damn good small talk as I'm busy at my new built-in gas barbecue! If the DU Lounge--and I do mean ALL of you, can't do it, there's no hope.

So go ahead; talk amongst yourselves...

1. No, I'm afraid we didn't get any snow. Little BAL wanted to see it so badly;
he was really heartbroken.

It really is a great view--that's what sold us on this one!

4. Admittedly a bit plebian--I can't help it, I like Pinot Grigio.
Mr. B can make a run to AJ's, though; he's tight with the sommalier there.

6. Direct--I'm cookin' up whatever you brang!
Mr. B is a somewhat lapsed vegetarian, he now will eat seafood. A funny story--he went to Seattle on business for a couple of months. His employer sent Little B and I there to visit one weekend. I really, really wanted seafood, but he couldn't deal with the smell.

He never ate any kind of meat before (he was raised a Hindu, in fact), but he was treted like a king by the major technology company he was being courted for his business. One night they took him out to a big steakhouse, and he was famished.

He calls me later that evening (the Wednesday following our trip), and tells me he wants me to learn how to cook salmon. I kid not.

I could have strangled him--and by the way, how's that salmon?!

8. I have no idea whatsoever to do with this front room.
It's supposed to be a combo formal living/dining room, but that's just so NOT me...

Any ideas?

10. I just read this great book--about PIGEONS. I'm not kidding.
Edited on Wed Jan-24-07 04:36 PM by blondeatlast
As many of you know, I love birds anyway, but I always thought pigeons were stupid little critters. Not so--and they have an incredible human sub-culture surrounding them.

If someone doesn't pick up the slack here, the cilantro/lime shrimp is going to burn...

Could someone get the door, please? Thanks!

15. have you read...
Rupert Sheldrake? his study of pigeons is extensive and fascinating. no one would think a pigeon stupid after reading his work.

16. He's quoted and cited often in this book. I'll have to look into it more.
Maybe it can explain why they don't move until I've almost run over them in the car?!

Some of our fellow Phoenix DUers got snow, but alas, not us.

premature spring (or endless autumn) ended last week.

So Arizona sounds pretty good as I look out my window and see grey and snow.

22. Still plenty of chow. If you've got the wit, pull up a seat and kick your shoes off.
Four people does NOT a great meal make, IMHO. A bunch of great people and my new bbq, OTOH, makes a PARTY!

23. Thanks for the invite! The food looks yummy.....
It's really nice in Phoenix this time of year. Guess I shouldn't ask if I can fry an egg on your patio right now.

Your house looks great. What color should we use to redecorate the living room? Mine is a deep red, but it is 15 by 20 and has windows along the exterior. So it works really well.

I love deep colors. Do you?

Anyone publicly breastfed while smoking or anything?
