I have the least common eye color.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_color

But, according to this, I must have been adopted. Both of my parents eyes were blue.

Genetics is a pretty interesting topic.

3. My mothers parents were both blue,
I know my father's father was blue, but not sure about his mom. They divorced when he was young.

5. blue blue
or blue-green?

Two recessives make a dominant (if I'm remembering my highschool biology class rightly!)

If your parents had recessive greens, you could still be green.

My dad had Grey eyes (that wasn't an option in the chart you linked to) and my mom's were hazelly - brownish - depending.

Mine and my brothers are brown, my sister's blue. (But she really looks like my dad's side of the family.)

I married a man who has blueish/greenish/greyish eyes - our son's is like his (it depends on what they're wearing and the weather and their mood, etc.) Pretty interesting - hubby never knows what to put down for "eye color" on his drivers license!

6. There must be a blue-green in there somewhere.
Both of my parent's eyes are a very light blue, and so was my grandmother. My grandfather died before I was born, but my mom and sister always talk about his blue eyes.

Maybe my grandmother on my father's side had green.

I was reading in one of the websites that eye colors started brown until people migrated north, then the blue and green eyed people survived better in the northern environments. Very interesting.

7. That's how my eyes are -- color changes based on the shirt I'm
wearing. Some days they are blue, some days they are green, and some days they are hazel.

2. You'd be surprised.
My partner's parents had blue eyes and green eyes, respectively. But my partner has brown eyes, and her brother has one brown eye and one green eye. They've had DNA testing done and everything--they really are her biological parents. It was just some strange mutated gene from her Dad that did it.

By the way, aren't violet eyes the rarest color? (Mine are green also)

4. I guess violet and pink are pretty rare.
According to the wiki article, it said green. But, maybe they are speaking of the more common eye colors of brown, blue, green, and hazel.

8. Mine are very bright green.
My parents eyes were both hazel. My kids eyes are brown (my son) and bright blue (both girls) and my husband has one brown eye and one hazel eye.

9. I've always had a weakness for green-eyed men
They're pretty rare - don't know how I found so many.

One had black hair and amazing green eyes. Waitresses would ask me if he was Tim Matheson.

10. Everyone in my family has green eyes, both sides
All of my more extended family on my dad's side--cousins, etc--have blue eyes and light brown to blonde hair. Very Germanic looking. But both of my Grandmothers were Scottish and my mom's dad was Irish. So, I have the palest of pale skin, and green eyes. Most unattractive!

16. I'm told I have hazel eyes
Whatever that means. They always look blue-ish green-ish to me. Hell I'm a guy and don't see much beyond the usual guy color spectrum of red, blue, black, white, green, yellow and brown. Maybe some purples.
