I had really bad tooth pain on Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon, when I finally got into the dentist. When I found out I needed a root canal (scheduled for this afternoon at 4), my teeth stopped hurting. In fact, they've felt completely normal since then. What up with that?

1. Perception is our reality
It's odd that perception skews our reality so much, but it does.

Case in point - when the Columbian Invaders first came to America, their ships were on the horizon and no one could see them. The people in the tribe looked out and saw that the water was disturbed, but they couldn't see the huge ships headed for their island. They had never seen such ships before, and so they had no imprint in their minds of what a ship was. They sent their medicine man out and he watched for hours until he finally saw them.
