5. !
:spray:

Too realistic, but :spray: nonetheless!

Indeed, "The Mark of Gideon" suggests Kirk has a disease. They only lightly imply it's an STD until it's revealed the Gideons want Kirk to get jiggy with the babe of the week so she can acquire the disease and spread it to others.

:wow:

The story itself is crackers, but there are elements of the plot that, when aren't showing us how self-aware the show is, are brilliant conceptually...

11. He shouldn't have - by which I mean
he should've disappeared and only be presumed dead.

My second choice would be he dies similarly to how he was supposed to have died at first, saving the Ent-B. Some scenario like in the "Doomsday Machine" where he's on the crippled ship saving the day and gets transported at the last minute but this time there's no chance of that happening and he has just enough time to give a last short message to whoever is listening.

22. Bingo. He should have never died, just disappeared.
Maybe back into that slipstream (what was it called?) where Picard found him.

14. Shatner didn't want Kirk killed off.
He fought against it, and even tried to give Kirk a shot at the afterlife with his ad-libbed last words "oh my" (delivered with his eyes on eternity like he saw something beyond).

Shatner even wrote a Trek book that picks up where Generations left off, in which Kirk is revived (in a sort-of clone form), and fights the Romulans alongside Picard and the TNG crew. I think he "wrote" a few more in a similar vein and has always said in interviews that Kirk may not be absolutely, totally dead. Unfortunately for Bill, the owners of the ST franchise say that Kirk is dead as velvet crimplene leisure suits, so that appears to be that.

Of course, someone could always revive him in an alternative timeline, but they'd have to do it soon, before Shatner himself gets too old. Oh, wait. That already happened thirty years ago.

15. At the cinema.
I was waiting in line for whatever Star Trek movie it was. The previous show let out. This one kid grumbles to another "Captian Kirk was killed. That sucks." And it sucked for all of us in line knowing what was going to happen.

17. I'm surprised the kid made it home alive.
Revealing the plot to people waiting to see a movie should be grounds for justifiable homocide.

32. That was Generations
It reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer and Marge are walking out of "Empire Strikes Back" and Homer yells really loud "OMG, I can't believe Darth Vader is Luke's father!" in front of the line of movie goers.

I agree with the other poster. That's justifiable homicide!
