Nickeodeon offers "The Naked Brothers Band" -- two boys, aged 6 & 9. Is that creepy or WHAT?

"The Naked Brothers Band" is a thoroughly entertaining rock and roll musical comedy for children and adults. Part documentary, part mockumentary, and a lot of fun in between, it tracks a kids' rock band that struggles with superstardom, and features more than 18 celebrities including Julianne Moore, Tony Shalhoub, and Uma Thurman.

This 'fantasy rockumentary' stars two real life brothers, Nat Wolff age 9, and Alex Wolff age 6, and the real life band they started in pre-school with archival footage of their first gig.

In "The Naked Brothers Band," the camera follows Nat and Alex through their concerts, their rehearsals, and their private lives, as they deal with the growing pains related to love, friendship, and family.

6. A play on their names? Nate/Alex and then kid?
Isn't that what the name is about? Just asking.

7. If so it is a very unfortunate choice, indeed.
Their parents need a new set of scrabble letters and a do-over.

9. I guess if I never heard of it before it would bother me
I think the first time I heard it I thought, "What?" But after being innundated with the promos and music videos for over a month and repeatedly hearing the the joke about how the boys came up with the name for the band, it's pretty innocent. The songs are typical little kid songs (Crazy Car) and the movie looks very tame.

Now, if some unemployed 40-year-old living in his mother's basement had labeled the band as The Naked Brothers, I'd be creeped.

11. Baby Bunny loves this show. I asked her one time about the name,
and the explanation she gave seemed pretty benign, although I cannot now recall what it was.

12. I vaguely recall it was something to do with when they were little and
they bathed together. I think they called themselves the naked brothers to be silly.

18. Adults allowing them to be called The Naked Brothers is inexcusable
especially for the adults at Nickleodeon.

The Bath Bros? The Suds Budz? That conveys the same innocence without being borderline pornographic. Is it any wonder that so many child molesters don't know what the fuss is all about?

14. "growing pains related to love"?!
At 6 and 9 years of age? What happened to being a kid a 6 years old? I, for one thing would be absolutely devestated if our 8 year old was caught up in boys, love, cell phones and television. Instead it's multiplication, division, environmental club and indoor soccer, the way it SHOULD be for any child of that age.

It all comes down to parenting really.

*sigh*

16. Maybe they're the children
of Canadian hard rock signer Bif Naked.

But still, what kind of a name is that for a band consisting of six- to nine-year-olds? I wouldn't let my kids watch it for that reason alone.
