I am going for permanent eyeliner and eyebrows tomorrow
My eyelashes are blonde, my eyebrows are blonde and I look horrific without makeup.

Tell me your success or horror stories....

1. Friend's mom loves them
A friend's mom had them done years ago and loves them. She over-plucked her brows and they didn't come back. (Is that common knowledge? Because I didn't know eyebrows could stop growing.) She also had her eyeliner done the same time. I think they look great.

On the other hand, the same friend's aunt had permanent lip liner that looked awful. It was a pinky-mauve color-- pretty dark. It looked fine when she had on lipstick, but when her lipstick wore off, she still had a pink rim of color. Ewww!

2. Evidently, you can have lip liner done separately
Sounds like this is what she did.
I agree sounds yucky.
Glad to hear that the permanent eyeliner was okay.

At 55, I look scarier than I did when young, and the drooping lips wipe off the makeup anyway.

Yep, I am nervous, so thanks for replying.

3. I have liner
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 10:46 PM by Connonym
About 5 years ago I had it done. It's very subtle so that I didn't look made up, just enhanced and natural. I have no regrets and will probably go in to have it touched up when I can afford it. The initial procedure went really well but when I had it touched up it hurt. Don't plan on driving yourself. Personally, I would ask my doctor about getting a valium or something for the next time but I'm a big wuss.

RE the lips, I know a couple people who have had it done by the same woman who did my eyes. I think it looks terrible but I don't like the lined lip look to begin with. Plus I was told that it hurts a lot more than the eyes (but boy do you have sexy puffy lips for days after!).

ETA my mom liked the results so much we treated her to it for her birthday.

4. If my mom was still alive, I would definitely treat her to this
Her eyelids were puffier than mine which is obviously why I need it...genetics and all that.
In fact, if she were alive and I had the money to only do one of us, I would give it to her.
Just because she deserved it.

It sounds like you had done what I am trying to achieve. Natural and not made up is the look I am going for.

I wonder what the lips would look like without the liner?

9. i thought she looked great--she is a natural beauty anyway
and this all looked very natural:thumbsup:

if you do the lips...(ouch) do the whole lip not just the liner (icky look imo)

she wore makeup too---but, she did not have to apply liner and her when her lipstick wore off her lips were still a pretty shade.

she said she was not pleased with the color her lips turned out but, i thought they looked fine.

good luck

7. Friend of mine has had this done
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 11:19 PM by Whoa_Nelly
And was told that over time would have to have them redone as it does fade like any tattoo.

Be preared to have soreness for a few days and no makeup until it heals...I think about a week She also went to someone she was recommended to by a friend, and that friend had already ahd ot done and the results were good. Apparently, there are some people who do this that aren't good at the process. Hope the person you are going to is good.

I have blond eyelashes and eyebrows, but don't think I could handle going through with what you are going to do. Good Luck! :hi:

8. Ann Curry has the best eyebrows of anyone I've ever seen.
If I could have mine done like that, I would go for it. But mine would probably turn out looking like Groucho Marx.
