In DC for march: good Japanese restaurant?
For her 16th birthday my daughter wanted to go to the DC march, so we're headed down for that.

But she also wants a nice birthday dinner, and she loves Japanese food.

So for all you DC-based DUers, any suggestions of a good place we can bring her? (reasonably priced preferred :-)

3. Thanks! Anything in DC itself?
Thanks guys for the suggestions, they look great.

If possible though I'd like to go to a place in the city.

Anything in DC?

4. best food is in Bethesda
close to the city, much Asian food there, too.

many choices. I don't know of Japanese in the city, maybe in the Dupont Circle area, another major restaurant zone.

7. Sakana in Dupont Circle
Great sushi, fantastic prices. She'll love it. 2 blocks from the Metro.

However...

If you're really celebrating, go to Makoto :http://www.gayot.com/restaurantpages/info.php?tag=DCRES01576&code=DC

VERY traditional Japanese setting - you will have to remove your shoes and wear slippers. Great experience. You'll need to taxi there, as it's nowhere close to the Metro.
