5. Did Go Sr. and Jr. Years
Don't have the pics handy

The girl I took to the Sr. prom is dead. She died my freshman year in college. we dated some that year but she died down in Norman in an auto accident. I understand the driver and she were wasted completely. That wouldn't surprise me at all since that was a usual condition for her and for me.

very sad outcome over the next 6 months past the prom.

Good Bye Brenda!

miss ya:hug:

22. Sorry Shell

we had more of a friends with benefits thing than a romantic involvement, but I miss her, and it gets me sometimes still to think that she's gone. I know we wouldn't have had any future as a couple. We would end up drunk together and well.... but there wasn't anything else to it, the prom and that time of life were actually the most serious time of our relationship, and that weren't much at all.

18. I went to 4 proms
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 11:59 PM by Nicole
When I was a sophomore I went to prom with senior boyfriend at our school. That same year, about 2 weeks later, I went to prom with a senior friend from a different school. He had just broken up with his girlfriend so I was a stand in.

When I was a junior I went to prom with senior boyfriend.

When I was a senior I went to my prom with the same boyfriend from the year before.

We didn't have Junior High proms back then or I would have went to that too. I loved proms. :loveya:

I do have pics but would rather not share them.

Got invited when I was a junior...we moved back to the states a month later. Well before the prom. And you know what it's like being the new kid on the block.

Especially when said new kid wears glasses and saddle oxfords and a Frankfurt Eagles letter jacket and spends her free time in the library.

42. I did
It's called grad here, and it's not quite as big of a deal as it is in the US.

I had sort of an on again, off again relationship with my boyfriend at that time (he didn't go to my high school) - and it was off at the last minute. My best friend's date had gotten a Mercedes for us, and we had a couple of rooms booked at a hotel in Niagara Falls that evening. That went down the tubes...

I asked a (gay) friend if he'd go with me (hence cancelling the hotel reservation) - he was the only one left (he also didn't go to my high school).

It was fun, not spectacular. We went to a party after the grad dance, and then drove around Toronto into the wee hours of the morning.

Sorry, don't have any pics scanned. :hi:

44. Flamebait?
There was a thread in the DU Lounge yesterday called "From?" and I started this thread simply as an attempt to form a humorous copycat of that one. There was no malicious intent on my part. And there have been quite a few responses in this thread, and I don't see any evidence of anyone flaming anyone else.

What is it about my OP that makes you think it is flamebait? Not being rude or argumentative here, I'm just curious why you feel that way.

46. Opted for the 'military ball' instead...
The JROTC unit at my school, in coordination with the ones at the other 9 high schools in Charlotte, played host to one huge formal gala at the end of the year. The cadet officers are 'required' to attend.

The boys come in Class-A formal (issued through their programs... we had Army, Navy, and Air Force sponsored programs in the county), and the gals in standard 'prom dresses'.

Well, except for me... i had to do a costume change.

I was a cadet staff officer, and although i arrived in formal 'girl' attire, i had to change into formal 'military' attire (complete with my saber) in time for the presentation of the assorted cadet commanders and staff from all of the schools.

I went stag that night, but had a great time, especially once i was able to get out of those blasted heels. I think i danced with my best-friend's girlfriend more than he did (thanks, Denise, wherever you are!)

49. Of course
I went to prom with my senior boyfriend my sophomore year.
I went to my junior and senior proms. I went to a fairly small school so participation in activities like this was expected of any reputable student so I went. Not going was like frequently skipping class, not being in any extra curriculars, failing a class, or getting suspended. I needed my teacher recommendations.
