I used to be a Christian, back in the 70's. Back then, they never would have said that god hates anybody. They used to say he only hated sin, not the sinner. Now god is hating people?

...but why are you certain this a hoax? The link to crooksandliars.com you provided says, "It's hard to tell if this is a parody site—his music is certainly certifiable....". I checked out Davies' site and he at least has the appearance of being genuine in his rather disagreeable beliefs.

If God "hated" fags so much that He nuked all of Sodom county because of them (which is the standard fundie interpretation of Genesis 19) then surely that should have made His Top 10 list in Exodus 20. I don't remember God blowing up any cities for forgetting to remember the Sabbath day, or for someone not honoring their mother and father, yet those are on the list.

And Jesus took some of the commandments even further, saying "If you even look at someone with hatred in your heart, you're guilty of murder" and "If you look upon a woman with lust it's the same as adultery". It would have been a perfect time to throw in "...and if I see a single rainbow flag around here, I'll make Sodom & Gommorah look like a Mormon church picnic".

As for Genesis 19, other scriptures in the Bible itself make it clear that the problem there was not showing any hospitality to strangers, and attempted rape. While these would have been rude responses to any guests in the city, they were even more so when the visitors turned out to be angels who just beamed down from Heaven.
