My 10 yr old daughter and her best friend are getting manicures

She got a gift certificate for her 10th bd last Oct. and she's finally using it now.

They have an appt in 15 minutes and I'll be driving them over and then hanging out, waiting the half hour for it to be over.

In all my years, I've NEVER had a manicure. She's getting her first one at 10 years old!!!!

It's just soooooo NOT my thang...but it's cute that she's so into it and she gets to get one with her girlfriend.

She's a total Girly Girl. Not like me at all. Don't know where she gets it. :eyes:

My daughter is also a girly girl (5 years old). I was hangin out of trees at her age.

She is plieing and spinning...weird.

2. I never had one til I started going with my daughter.

She was about 13. I'd always done my own nails and thought I would hate someone messing with my hands. Now, I really enjoy them, but not as much as I love pedicures!!

3. Both of my daughters are girly-girls. I'd like to someday be able

to give them the full day-spa treatment. You know: swedish massage, manicure, pedicure, perhaps a cut and style. They'd be in heaven, and the weird thing is that this stuff just doesn't appeal to me. I have no idea where they got this from!

5. My son likes My Little Ponies and Breyer resin horses

as well as Power Rangers, Legos, and Pirates of the Caribbean. It doesn't bother me in the least. My same-sex partner and I are proud that our little boy isn't fettered by gender stereotypes. :D

As for me--I was a bookworm when I was young. I spent most of my free time locked away in my bedroom, reading one book or another. My Mom let me choose my own books, no matter how adult the subject matter. I grew up in love with reading, and I still am to this day.
