1. I don't
I felt that I needed to get away. I went to college out of state and married. Now I am anonymous when I visit if I am alone or with my husband rather than accompanying a relative.

4. Not a town and not exactly.
Spent many summers here as a kid, but didn't go to school around here. Family ranch - been in the family for over 125 years, but I wasn't raised here.

Mother wanted to leave, I wanted to return - suspect my kids want out at least for a while - hope we can hang for the grandkids - seems to be an alternation of generation thing.

7. I do, when I got out of school I got a job in Arlington, VA
I absolutely hated the Washington area, the traffic, crime, cost of living and just city life in general. I was drafted and after getting out of the Army a company here was hiring, so I came back home. I visit Pittsburgh PA once a year for the Auto Show, Cleveland OH for the Outdoors Show and Columbus OH a few times a year mainly for Doctors appointments, although there are some things the city has to offer I still am glad I don't live there.

8. Yep!
I live only a few miles from the house where I grew up. I moved away for 8 years for school and work, but returned. It's home. It's where I belong. I don't talk to any of my old high school friends or hang out at the common watering holes, yet it's where I'm suppose to be. In a chaotic world, Columbus, OH is my security blanket. :)

12. I do. Born and raised here.
When my Dad was killed, Mom moved us to another state to get us away from the press. I lived there for a few years (until I turned 18), then lived in New York state for a few months, then wound up moving back here. My Mom, her husband, and my little sister followed me back here.

I love my little city. Not too big, not too small, just right for me. :)

13. Not just in the same town
but in the same house. Of course there was a 25 year and several thousand mile hiatus there, and my brother owns the house now rather than my parents, but still.

15. No.
Left 2 weeks after I turned 21 for a whole host of reasons. Not a happy period in my life - 'nuff said.

16. Same town, five doors down from the in-laws
Spent about 10 years away. 4 in North Carolina, and then came back here and lived 18 miles south. Bought our house in hubby's old neighborhood when my kids were just starting school, been here ever since. We love it. We have about 5 acres and we put in a very substantial garden, have berry bushes, and fruit trees, too.

And plenty of room for that 30,000 square foot dream house we have been planning on building.
