Nathan is 15 and he lives in his room
He’s trying to learn every Hendrix tune
Jeannie’s a year older and she lives at the mall
She dresses in black, she’s seen it all

They got a pit bull named Uzi, who’s lost all his teeth
Got a Boa Constrictor whose name is Keith
Mom is an artist, she’s had to persevere
And Dad came out of the closet last year

They are living in the land of the free

Just an average American Family

They’ve got a house and a mortgage and a Volvo sedan
They got a basement full of cannabis plants
Mom makes a brownie that’s the living end
And if you don’t believe me, ask Dad’s boyfriend

Every where you look, in every little town
