Aftter watching the loss of the Seattle Seahawks to Green Bay yesterday, I was not at all suprised that my home team lost. In fact, I was expecting that to happen. This is what has been happening to all of the professional sports from my hometown(Sonics, Seahawks, Mariners...etc..).From this, I have learned one thing. Never raise your hopes up when your team is in the playoffs. Enjoyself during the game yes but don't invite disappointment.
It is something I am not particularly proud of but let's get real. Seattle has not won a major pro sports championship since '79 with my beloved Supersonics, but that is it. The Sonics came close in '96 but it was against Michael Jordan and the Bulls.Need I say more? Had it not been the Bulls, the Sonics might have had a fighting chance for a second title.
I don't what it is or why Seattle has this curse but let us not kid ourselves. Seattle is cursed for pro sports teams. I think it might have had something to do with the old Pilots baseball team leaving town in 1970 after only playing as a team in 1969. Or it could be when the NHL awarded Seattle a team, the Totems to play in the 1974 season but the prospective owners could not get the money together and so that award was given to another city. There could be a million reasons why Seattle teams just don't win but if anybody has the answer let me know.
