I have a computer question, and I'm a cheap bastard.
I know, there'z groups for this kind of thing, but I haven't found the "too cheap to buy new software" DU group just yet. :D

So I'm a Mac guy, and I've got these small PDF files, a couple of inches across each. I'd like to lay a few of them up on an 8x10 and re-PDF 'em.

Am I going to be forced to (shudder) spend money?

1. Here's a neat trick.
If you have some sort of graphics editing program (Photoshop or something, but even AppleWorks will do the job), make a high quality TIFF image of your composited files, then open that in Preview and resave it as a PDF. Only thing about this is that you end up losing any of the fancy links or HTML you had in the original PDF, but if you didn't have any of that, you don't have to worry about it.
