The other day I posted a funny story about hurting myself playing the Wii and about 5 minutes later someone posted a very similar story (unknowingly, they weren't copying me or anything). Their thread got about 50 responses and mine got about 7, half of which were my responses to the few people who actually wrote anything. That's when I *knew* I wasn't imagining it.

Many people seem to have known each other quite a long time, so I don't begrudge them the long term friendships that have been consummated here.

In general terms, I enjoy the lounge. I post in here when I feel I have something that I can relate to or a shared experience. I feel a lot of compassion in here, but am not looking to climb up any popularity pole.

So, I guess the answer is "no" it doesn't bother me at all.

I fall into a sort of clique of my own here, not that I'm so proud of that. Some people love me, others find me to be something of a militant feminist/agnostic, I think. I used to get a few snide comments on my age, to the effect that a teenager couldn't POSSIBLY know how she feels about something (sex, marriage customs, dating, love, religion, even less personal things like war and Middle Eastern politics), because she has not enough experience. Now, I haven't experienced the world, but I doubt that anyone else here has either, and a heart is a heart, an open mind an open mind, no matter the age of the body they are in.
