9. .
Nope, they do their business in the woods. It was a very exciting moment when each family member chose their tree.

At least they won't waste any energy because of their light bulbs. Or any electricity at all.

13. You guys must love the controversy
You're doing everything you can to keep it going and twist it into what it never was. I'm beginning to hope you succeed in burying your own candidate. There would be a certain poetic justice to it.

Beyond that, this is a commentary on those who think having money is a bad thing.

19. That's the Edwards' people distortion
The issue is excessive consumption and green building, not Edwards' wealth.

25. Actually, it's not
Except by the Edwards people who are intentionally ignoring and distorting the issue of excessive consumption and what that means for the entire planet, including the poor. DU used to know that "living large" was a problem, what with the almost daily Hummer and McMansion threads. Guess we'll never see those again.

21. Except when Walmart shoppers are being 'judged'
Criticizing a presidential candidate for misrepresenting themselves and their lifestyle is part of the process. If poor senior DUers can be beaten up for shopping at Walmart, that Edwards himself has attacked, then I would think the Edwards could take a little heat on their own hypocrisy.

26. You mean by making fun of it?
The controversy was nonsense to begin with.

We're just making fun of those disingenuous enough to have bought into it.

14. I know I should be doubled up in laughter......but to date,
Edited on Mon Jan-29-07 04:45 PM by FrenchieCat
I haven't found anything funny about any of this, one way or the other.

It is my opinion that just as the outrage of Edwards' house backfired, so might the outrage about the outrage of Edwards' house backfire.

Far as I am concerned, this non issue is getting more play than it is worth.....and those that think that this thread is funny should now go and watch the Vote-Vet ad at youtube where the one armed soldier is talking about our current war and rate it up.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8ybvWplJh4

Houses whether in a coffee table book and used for book tours, or subject of an Arial photo....are replaceable and won't change the lives of Americans. Lives however are not expandable.

The joke just like the outrage have both played out on the house bit, far as I'm concerned.

Sorry to have interrupted. Please......go on, as you were. :boring:
