I am procrastinating from doing about 8 loads of laundry
Hell, do ya blame me?? :eyes:

It's my absolute least favorite chore.

O, woe is me.

1. Welcome to my world!
I HATE laundry.

I just did about 6 loads. But have not folded nor put them away yet.

4. Fuckin' A
Monday is Laundry Day at our household. Usually it takes me a few days to get it completely sorted, washed, dried, folded, put away. If we're lucky, we have three good days and then it's time to do it all over again. :banghead: I feel like Sysyphus....that Greek guy who was condemned for all eternity to roll the stone up the hill only to have it roll back down after he reached the top.

Yup, that's me and the laundry. Perfect metaphor.

6. Perfect metaphor.
Thankfully my husband chooses to do his own laundry. But I still have mine, my daughter's and the household laundry.

I just got done doing four sets of sheets (not a usual thing here, usually only two sets, but I did my son's bedding and my guest room bedding).

13. Hey, good on ya for re-doing your son's bedroom, as painful as it may be
 I read your thread about it, but wanted to let you know I think it's a good thing you're claiming that space for your healthy and creative outlets....instead of keeping it as a reminder of what you're missing. You're doing just fine. I know you miss him.

How lovely that your hubby does his own laundry. Wow, that's a treat.

Truth is, as skygazer pointed out, my kids are probably old enough to handle their own laundry or, at the very least, folding it themselves. Sigh....more details to work out.

Sometimes it's just easier to do it myself and complain about it, mightily, along the way. LOL.

19. My son did his own as well
But he is 16 now, and it is as it should be.

Yes, I am claiming the space for me. Not that he cannot stay here when he visits, I just need a room for me in the house.

23. I'm envious.
the only "room" I get to myself is when the kids are in school and the hubby's at work. We don't have a big enough house for me to get a room like yours.

I can't complain, seriously. Life is good....even with the fuckin' laundry.

I LIKE laundry - I use a clothesline and so it means time out in the yard. Why can't purina make 50 lb bags of teenchow?

Great to see you!! :loveya: Hope all's well on your end. Happy New Year and all that...

We've got the washer and dryer set up in our very cold garage. It's such a tedious chore. I HATE it....but I need to get over it and just deal.

There's always SOMEthing to procrastinate over, huh? I'm really good at it.

I hate laundry too but it's still only about 6 or 7 years since I was doing it in a laundromat so I try to remind myself to be grateful I can do it at home.

Dishes on the other hand... :nuke:

Hmmmm..... don't you have kids just the right age to do laundry?

Just expensive. 8 loads, 8 machines, 8 dryers. We're usually in and out of a laundromat in 2 hours. The only thing I hate is all the people running around coughing and sneezing on everything.

AND I have to go outside in the freezing ass weather up here, open the storm doors and fumble around in the dark - go back to my place to find a lighter - only to go back and figure out nothing is on down there - then I have to find the bastard cat giving himself a tour of the place with nothing but a slowly dying lighter.

Good thing I'm not afraid of the shadows eh?

34. i think you are thinking about a line from song from
jesus christ superstar:shrug: sung by mary magdelene i don't know how to love him...

I don't know how to love him
What to do, how to move him
I've been changed, yes really changed
In these past few days
When I've seen myself
I seem like someone else

I don't know how to take this
I don't see why he moves me
He's a man <----
He's just a man <----
And I've had so many
Men before
In very many ways
He's just one more

Should I bring him down
Should I scream and shout
Should I speak of love
Let my feelings out?
I never thought I'd come to this
What's it all about?

Don't you think it's rather funny
I should be in this position?
I'm the one
Who's always been
So calm so cool
No lover's fool
Running every show
He scares me so

I never thought I'd come to this
What's it all about?

Yet
If he said he loved me
I'd be lost
I'd be frightened
I couldn't cope
Just couldn't cope
I'd turn my head
I'd back away
I wouldn't want to know
He scares me so
I want him so
I love him so

and guess what i'm doing...yep you got it LAUNDRY:rofl:

21. My wife told me a story recently
A woman she works with has to do a load of laundry every day. Hard to imagine that, but I don't have kids.

Recently, her washer broke down. Now she has to take the laundry to a laundrymat... She LOVES it!

Now, instead of spending every evening messing with laundry, she does it all at one time, on one day, and reads a book while the laundry cooks.

Not for me, but I can see where it might be an improvement for some.

25. Yeah, I can see how that could be a pleasant experience
especially the reading, but I agree with you, it's not for me. Too much of a hassle, schlepping it all there, quarters and whatnot. Doing it at home is bad enough, but at least I can spread out and do it on my own schedule, without having to worry about stuff getting stolen or whatever.

OK, I'm gonna go tackle it now!!! It's time to TAKE ACTION, dammit!!

And of course, having a nice laundry room is the best!
