1. I love WKRP!
It was a standard growing up in my house.

Baby, if you've ever wondered,
Wondered whatever became of me,
I'm living on the air in Cincinnati,
Cincinnati, WKRP.

Got kind of tired packing and unpacking,
Town to town and up and down the dial
Maybe you and me were never meant to be,
But baby think of me once in awhile.

I'm at WKRP in Cincinnati..

9. Yet your username
is the same as the air name Andy originally gave to Venus Flytrap.

13. Andy was trying to think of a gimmick for Venus
(whose real name on the show is Gordon Simms) after he hired him away from a station in New Orleans. It was the late '70s so Andy asked him his star sign. I think it was Scorpio, and Andy said, "Ahhh, that stinks." Venus said, "It does not! It's a love sign, ruled by Venus!" Andy said, "That's it!" and dubbed him Venus Rising and told him his schtick would be to talk about love and the planets.

I don't remember who screwed up and turned him into Venus Flytrap. I do remember Herb calling him Venus Claptrap, and the famous line by Les: "I do the sports news for the station, Mr. Flytrap. I don't know if you've noticed, but there certainly are a lot of negroes in sports."

14. Oh, now I really can't wait to see the DVD!
Mine is just a name that evolved from something else.

Venus Claptrap.

2. This is great news....
While I was reading the amazon posting, I began to wonder if this will be one of the all time top sellers straight out of the gate based on the buzz of not being released for so long due to the music rights issue, plus the massive status it has.

15. music rights?
I hope that's resolved. Anyone know where I can download the opening and closing theme music? They had the best song of any show to this day.

16. I'm assuming the music rights dilemma has been resolved
Hugh Wilson, the show's creator, has personally supervised the transfer to DVD, so he'll make sure the integrity isn't compromised.

Here's the first season opening theme song:

. . . and the "gibberish" closing theme:
