xchrom was INSULTED saturday night!
so -- i had a ''date'' on saturday with this GORGEOUS israeli boy -- i mean adorable.

tall, lean -- big eyes -- just yummy.

so after the fire works -- he and i were talking.

and i mentioned how when i worked at a restaurant i worked with three israeli guys -- oh man could they party -- and party hard.

well language difficulties became immediatly apparent.

he said -- ''i don't want to be mean -- but in my country you would never see a guy your age at a party -- out at bars yes -- but never at a party''

well -- after miss thing{me} picked herself up off the floor -- i laughed -- and said cute funy things -- but inside i was all you little bastard -- a guy MY age?!?!?!

sigh -- needless to say i WON'T be seeing the cute little israeli boy again.
too humiliating.

my age!

oh-ho god.

4. welcome to america?
I wouldn't know what to say to that. People can be assholes, that's for sure. I guess if I had to be on one side of the equation or the other I'd rather be on the receiving end than the giving. The receiving end of assholishness is temporary, whereas the giving end is permanent without a whole lot of hard work, which needless to say most assholes aren't willing to do.

6. the worst part is -- he didn't KNOW he was being an asshole.
it magically appeared -- as a result of some naivete.

8. I'm not sure he was being an asshole...
he was telling you the truth about whatever culture he lives in. I have no idea how old you are, or how old he is, but he prefaced it with a desire not to be mean, and explained as best he could the truth of his situation.

If he's hot and he finds you hot, and the fireworks already occurred, why take offense if he was telling the truth? Maybe the language barrier didn't give him the skills to couch it in softer terms.

He sounds like a nice guy to me, who said something truthful. And he seems to like you. I'd cut him a break.

19. it's definitely a language thing.
when i talked about the guys i worked with and that they partied hard -- he didn't ''get'' that.

he thought they went to parties.

and that at parties there wouldn't BE anyone my age there. -- gasp -- i feel faint just TYPING THAT!

24. he's in his early twenties.
and -- lol -- i'm NOT telling the age diff.

oh -- he was giving a sort of left handed compliment -- after it had been cut off and surgically reattached.

it was a good burn. sigh -- one that i'll be telling my grandchildren.

9. Yeah, those people who don't realize they're hurting others are garbage,
worthy for only the incinerator. :(

(human nature is inevitable, neurotypical or not.)

13. heheh
but why give him up?

One of the hottest men I ever knew was a young Israeli. He was just stunning.

He was attracted to much older men. Anthony Hopkins was his dream-date. He was in his early 20s.

He didn't mean you any harm - are you serious about not seeing him again?

15. it's not a serious thing anyway -- but i am as vain as the day
is long. not that i have ''all that'' going on -- it's just a personal foible.

now that the cat is out of the bag -- so to speak.

but he was so pretty -- fresh out of the army too.

20. You can get what you want.
I was hoping you'd see the irony in my previous post.

But I also understand not everybody (myself included) takes the time to understand someone else's POV. I find none of this (from your OP onward) funny, hence my surprise...

But I could say "Welcome to my world" if you really knew what "funny at my expense" meant.

Go get your hotties. And play safely.

17. Culture/Language differences aside,
I really don't know what he's talking about.

" I don't want to be mean" ( offense could be taken?)

" never see a guy your age at a party"

What? Guys after a certain age don't go to parties?
Baloney!

WTH is he talking about?
