God, I miss Buffy
S.O. just brought home the DVD for season 7, and we just watched the series finale. What a freakin amazing series. I forgot just how good TV writing could be - Joss Whedon was amazing.

I miss actually looking forward to Tuesdays.

3. Season 1 was hit or miss, but after the story that introduced Spike in season 2,

I had to give it up.

Some say Buffy improves over time, but I couldn't get into it. Especially when she (who couldn't act if her life depended on it) said broke her fingernail... :eyes:

Firefly is a true gem, however... not for kids and gritty at times, which only gives it brownie points... (and influenced by "Blake's 7"!)

18. Spike was wonderful
I remember reading that he was introduced sort of as a one-off character, but that Marsters did such a great job with him that they decided to expand the character.

I especially liked scenes where he was required to remove his shirt!

8. Joss Whedon
I miss my Joss Whedon badly. I try to watch at least one Buffy, Angel or Firefly a day. I also run a very popular...600+ people, 3000 posts a month, (that's a lot for an entertainment site), Group that I've had since 2002.

Below is a description of my Group. If you ever find yourself needing some Buffy conversation, just let me know and I will send you an invitation. It is invitation only to keep out the trolls....Madspirit

9. ...and P.S.
I'm sure you already know this but Joss is a big-time leftist:

When I go to Europe, I just want to wear
a t-shirt with a picture of Bush and the
words, "I'm sorry".

14. unfortunately, I first saw Cordelia on Angel
Her hair was chopped short and she had gained too much weight. So I was thinking 'meh'. Then I saw some early Buffy re-runs and holy sh*t. Yowza. Seemed like a tragic loss though too. I am still sweet on the red-head who is on "How I met your mother" a show which I missed tonight.

22. You probably saw Cordelia when she was 8 months pregnant...
Yes, she had chipmunk cheeks. She was pretty hot earlier & has recovered nicely.

Charisma Carpenter had a role in Veronica Mars--which is popular with Buffy fans. (Joss Whedon played a bit part.)

29. Veronica Mars
Joss Whedon thinks Veronica Mars and Battlestar Galactica are the two best shows ever. (He doesn't even say besides his own.) He watches them faithfully. So do I and yes, Charisma had a recurring role on VM and Alyson Hannigan guest starred two or three times. ...and Joss did a cameo.

Buffy Ann Summers was my favorite character from start to finish. Joss said no one could be Buffy except SMG. I agree.

20. I worked at a company once with a bunch of Buffy fans
Tuesday felt like Friday -- we were all excited to see what Joss would come up with next.

We would get together Wednesday mornings to compare notes, and tape for those who were on the road Tuesdays.

We are so hardcore, we even have the CD from the musical!

24. I was just thinking about Buffy this past weekend -
When I saw Amber Benson on one of those Grade H movies on the Sci-Fi Channel

Buffy was a great show. Good acting, good writing, good characters, good cast chemistry... it had it all.
