2. a waLking tour of boston's historicaL sites

The Freedom Trail is a red (mostly brick) path through downtown Boston, Massachusetts which leads to sixteen significant historic sites. It is a 2.5 mile (4 km) walk from the Boston Common to the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown and is popular with tourists. Part of the Freedom Trail overlaps with the much longer Boston Harbor Walk. The Freedom Trail is a unit of Boston National Historical Park.

i did it a bunch as a kid, and haven't done it since, so it'd be fun for me too. :D

3. I did part of the Freedom Trail last summer
It's great! So are the Italian restaurants in the Old North End. It was my first trip to Boston and I loved it (except for driving back to the airport). Enjoy your vacation -- go out to Cape Cod too. That will be a stop on my next trip.

I haven't had a whole lotta nothing week in eons. I also haven't done the Freedom Trail in years. Can't wait until the kids are old enough to drag them along it. I doubt the three year old would let us enjoy too much of it. Have a great vacation!

11. If the weather cooperates
(that is, it's not the freaking cold windy and occasionally snowy March weather we're all used to experiencing) go out to the new Harbor Islands park.

Go to the North Shore and eat seafood at the Clam Box or Woodman's or some place like that.

A whole week of nothing is sometimes the perfect vacation, though.
