Do You Like Anderson Cooper?
I was out somewhere this morning and he was just being trashed.

But I really like Anderson Cooper. I like to listen to him because he is interesting and funny. And I like his reports.

Guess that makes me uncool.

1. Isn't he the son of Gloria Vanderbilt?
I seem to remember that pointless piece of trivia from somewhere....
He's OK, I guess. I don't have any strong feelings one way or another about him.
I remember being impressed with him during the whole Katrina debacle, as he chronicled how lame this admin was in handling the devastation. That was cool. He's not too bad looking, either, for what it's worth. :D

:hi:

2. Yes, he is. And his twin brother committed suicide.
It's kind of amazing he turned out so normal.

There is also this thing going around that he is gay and that adds to the gossip. Really, why would anyone even care if he was gay. What has that got to do with his job as a foreign journalist?

3. Wow, I didn't know about the suicidal twin brother.
That sucks.

I agree, his sexual orientation has NO bearing on his skill as a journalist. Who cares, indeed?

5. I think he's nice to look at
I don't watch his show that often so I really can't comment if he is biased one way or the other but he's certainly a cutie

6. Not particularly.
I miss Aaron Brown. Seems to me that Cooper now just covers fluff stuff. He tries to get to Darfur, New Orleans, etc. and when he's there he does an OK job, but all the rest seems to be very uninteresting. He was interviewing Michael Ware (Weir?) the other day and as Ware was trying to explain the complicated rivalries in Iraq b/w the nationalist, al qaeda, etc., Cooper just interrupted him and said 'Wait, so they pulled you out of the car at gunpoint?'

If Cooper wants to do serious news, then do it, let people talk. If he wants to do sensationalist shit, then fine, but don't pretend to be a serious journalist. He probably has to do much of what the CNN producers tell him to do, but still. I don't really respect him at all.
