1. I did
I had a rhinoplasty to repair a broken nose and deviated septum. The surgeon also took the hook of my nose.

outside of repair jobs, I see too many people who get plastic surgery and think they look good when really they look like older people desperately trying to hold on to their youth - in short, they look a bit pathetic

7. You don't need surgery for that.
Just eat a dozen Krispy Kremes each day and wait until the approximate age of your midlife crisis.

9. I would love to
But I don't think it would help much. 3 c-sections left me with an ugly scar and a pooch that will never go away no matter how much diet and excercise I do (believe me I tried). It would have to be taken off. It is disgusting.

12. If I ever had a mastectomy -
I would consider reconstructive surgery. Then again, maybe I'd decide to "own it" and forget about surgery -- but basically I'd have cosmetic surgery done if it were more reconstructive than recreational.

41. If it's reconstructive, then yeah--
If it's reconstructive or renomitive, then yeah-- (I think my current series of dental visits falls into the first category).

If it's because I don't like X about myself, then hell no! It's indicative of two things(IMO): a serious character flaw and our quick-fix culture. Guess I really am getting old fashioned....

I had liposuction, reconstruction after a broken leg with a rod implanted left me asymmetrical.
It helped me feel better AND fit into clothes better.

I have taken care of many folks who had reconstructive surgery for anything from post-mastectomy for cancer to tummy tuck after a HUGE baby.

The people who pay for elective plastic surgery help to pay for those who have been burned or traumatized and can't afford reconstruction. At least, that's the way my surgeon used much of his profits.

It's funny that you can get an insurance plan to cover 50,000 dollars worth of growth hormone to help reverse facial wasting due to HIV medications, but you can't get them to pay for 5000 in cosmetic surgery for to do the same thing.
