Daughter's biopsy came back. SHE'S OKAY!!!!!!!

As I posted here last week (see below), my daughter's doctor had found some pre-cancerous cells in two areas of her cervix. I just got an email from her, and the biopsy came back showing NO ACTUAL CANCER CELLS!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I'm crying happy tears!!! Thanks ALL OF YOU for your good thoughts and prayers that this would all turn out well.

10. What happy news!! I hadn't seen the previous thread.

I went through that exact same thing a few years back. Scary stuff, indeed. I had to have mine cut away in a LEEP biopsy. Not fun. :( But, I'm OK now, thank goddess, so it was worth it in the end.

She had the LEEP biopsy, also. Said it was a bit uncomfortable, and she got the shakes afterward, but overall, she came through it well.

35. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. A "bit uncomfortable" hardly covers it

let's just say my particular physiology made it excruciating. :( 1/2 hr of torture.
Hopefully, I'll never have to go through that again. Ugh.

111. I had a LEEP

The shakes are from the epinephrine given. My LEEP actually got the sample that diagnosed cancer (had a particularly aggressive strain of HPV), but, because the doc was so awesome, the margins were large enough that they didn't have to do anything else, just LOTS of monitoring for 3 years. Now all is back to normal.

Many good wishes and continued good health for your daughter! It's sure scary when you're in it, but hearing the words "All clear" is the most relieving thing. Ya'll need to go out and drink some champagne!!

"pre-cancerous"? no "actual cancer" cells? It sounds like scary medical mumbo-jumbo to me.

56. No "weasel words". In medical speak, there are 5 levels

with 5 being cancer. She was at level 4, which was pre-cancerous. Since they got the cells out, and they weren't showing full-blown cancer, then yes, she's out of the woods. She goes back in 4 months for a checkup, but we are all optimistic.
