Children of the 70s/80s...fave roller rink anthems
Post 'em here! :D

Wanna see you with it
Sho' could treat you right
Give me just a minute
Of your time tonight

We both are here to have the fun
So let it whip

We'll get into groovin'
Love your body language
Baby, let me know
You've got me sort of anxious

We both are here to have the fun
So let it whip

So let it whip
(let's whip it baby)
Child
(let's whip it right)
Get a grip
(let's whip it baby, work it all night)
Well, what's your trip
(oh no)
Child
C'mon let it whip
Oww-hoo

2. Brick House by the Commodores
Yeah, baby!! We would TOTALLY jam out to that song. Loved it!!! :loveya:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C719cRXZ9t0

Ow she's a Brick-house,
She's mighty mighty, just lettin' it all hang out
She's a brick-house, that lady's stacked, and that's a fact,
Ain't holdin' nothin' back, ow she's a brick-house,
Well we're together everybody knows,
This is how the story goes.

She knows she's got everything, that a woman needs, to get a man.
How can she lose, with such a youth,
Thirty six, twenty four, thirty six, what a winning hand!

She's a Brick-house, she's mighty mighty, just lettin' it all hang out.
Yea she's a brick-house, that lady's stacked,
And that's a fact,
Ain't holdin' nothin back, oh she's a brick-house,
Yeah she's the one, the only one,
Built like an Amazon.

The clothes she wears, her sexy ways,
Makes her, ole man wish, for younger days yeah yeah
She knows she's built, and knows how to please.
Sho' nuff can knock a strong man to his knees.

Cause she's a brick-house,
She's mighty mighty, just lettin' it all hang out.
Oh she's a brick-house,
That lady's stacked, and that's a fact,
Ain't holdin' nothin' back, yeah

Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it down now
Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it ooo ga ga
Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it down now
Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it shake it

Brick-House - Yeah, she's mighty mighty, just letting it all hang out
Ah what a brick-house, yeah she's the one, the only one, built like an Amazon.

Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it down now
Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it shake it
Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it down now
Shake it down, shake it down now, shake it down shake it shake it

BREAK

Oh what a Brick-house, she's mighty mighty, just lettin' it all hang out.
Yea she's a brick-house, that lady's stacked, that's the fact,
Ain't holdin' nothin' back, Owww she's a brick-house,
Yea she's the one, the only one, built like a Amazon

3. Love Rollercoaster
You give me that funny feeling in my tummy.

Ahhh shit, yeah, that's right, huh
Rollercoaster of Love
Say what?
Rollercoaster, yeah (ooh ooh, ooh ooh)
Oh, baby, you know what I'm talkin' about
Rollercoaster of Love (love rollercoaster, child)
Oh, yeah, it's Rollercoaster time
Lovin' you is really wild
Oh, it′s just a love rollercoaster
Step right up and get your tickets!

Chorus:
Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride, yeah (awawawawawaw)
Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride, yeah

Move it over dad 'cause I'm a double-dipper!
Upside down on the zip-zip-zipper
1,2,1,2,3, I′ve got a ticket so ride with me
Mary go down on the merry-go-round
All is fair 'n' a big fair ground
Love go slow, love go fast
Licorice whip gonna whip your ass.

Rollercoaster of love
Say what?
Rollercoaster,
yeah (ooh ooh, ooh ooh)
Rollercoaster of love
Can you get off our love rollercoaster?

Chorus:
Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride, yeah
Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride

I will be there for you, I will be your man.

Move over, dad, 'cause I'm a double dipper!
Upside down on the zip-zip-zipper
1,2,1,2,3, I′ve got a ticket so ride with me
Mary go down on the merry-go-round
All is fair 'n' a big fair ground
Love go slow, love go fast
Licorice whip gonna whip your ass.

Rollercoaster of love
Say what?
Rollercoaster,
yeah (ooh ooh, ooh ooh)
Rollercoaster
Love rollercoaster, child
Lovin' you is really wild
Love love love love love love love love love love
Rollercoaster,
uhuh (ooh ooh, ooh ooh)

Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride, yeah (yeah, this here joker's the ride)
Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride, (yes you do, yes you do, yes you do)
Your love is like (it’s like what?) a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride,
Your love is like a Rollercoaster baby, baby I wanna ride, (x10)

10. You got that right, sister sledge.
And you should have heard what we had to endure for the Limbo Skate.

Now that I think of it, "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves," "Knock Three Times," and "Proud Mary," played more frequently than "Black and White." But I guess that just confirms your horrific conclusion. And I guess you have never been to the high plains, otherwise you would be completely unsurprised.

12. Sweet Jesus
I spent the majority of my skatin' time in Owensgoddamnboro Ky, and we at least had Sly, P-Funk, Rufus, Dazz Band, Isleys, etc.

But, then again, you were apparently forged in the smelter of white mediocrity, and thus you are clearly much stronger than I. :patriot:

17. Our local skate DJ used to play Green Onions a lot - I had a friend
who was a fantastic skater, and he used to get a crowd around him watching him skate to Green Onions.

I also remember when Open Arms was a popular couples skate, and we heard a lot of disco (let's put it this way - I used to watch Dance Fever while getting ready to go skating on Saturday nights).

23. Birthday by The Beatles
Always great when you have your birthday party at the rink and the announcer says, "Annnnnnnnnnd a Happy 10th Birthday to Suzbaby!" Then the Beatles start singing, you and your friends (all wearing glow necklaces and bracelets) pile out on the rink and skate around.

37. "Mandolay" - my all time favorite skating song. "Say hey!"
There's a Spanish disco in a town not far from France
Known throughout the continent where people love to dance
There's a dark-skinned lady there
Whose legs have brought her fame
She dances in the center ring, and the people call her name

Mandolay, say hey
Say Mandolay
Say hey
Say Mandolay

All the men they know her
Or at least they think they do
She knows she can have them all
She thinks all men are fools
So she winks and smiles at them and brings them to their knees
Leaves them with their fantasies, but the people never see

Mandolay, say hey
Say Mandolay
Say hey
Say Mandolay

She can make men happy
But she'll never let them know
Mandolay, she's much too cool to let her feelings show
So she'll tease them with her moves,
Confuse them with her mind
Make love to everyone of them,
But only with her eyes

Mandolay, say hey
Say Mandolay
Say hey
Say Mandolay
