Is there an actor that u like so much you'll sit through a bad movie....
....that they are in?????

I've been reading the Steve Buscemi thread and it really made me ponder about this question because Steve Buscemi is one of those people that I'll watch anything he's in even if the movie sucks big time (Like Armageddon and Con Air). Another person I can think of is Angelina Joile. I absolutely adore her and I'll even sit through those crappy Lara Croft movies because I think she's pretty talented.

Who's on your list???

23. ever see House of Games?
David Mamet's first movie, with a then-little-know Macy in a bit part. Came out in 1987, and filmed in Seattle. Kind of fun!

13. Yeah, Walken
You're totally right. It's hard to take your eyes off the guy, even in stinkers---and he's been in a few. My favorite Walken performance? "King of New York." Sheer madness. Utter brilliance.

38. Oh, yeah. Walken
one of my favorites. I remember reading an interview with him once. He said people were always asking him what country he came from...he said New York. No, they said, BEFORE you moved to the U.S.

4. I used to watch everything Nicholas Cage made
Edited on Tue Jan-06-04 04:25 PM by Finnfan
He used to be such an adventurous actor that he would turn in performances that were absolutly brilliant ("Vampire's Kiss", "Raising Arizona") or positively awful ("Zandalee", "Time to Kill"). Once he started doing Bruckheimer crap, I lost the faith.

I'll still sit through anything with Susan Sarandon, Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington or Kevin Spacey.

14. I admit it, I am a closet Nicholas Cage fan
That was the first name that came to mind when I read the thread subject.

He often seems like he's kind of detached and not really into his characters, but somehow he usually works for me.

16. Connery...Sean Connery
A super actor, but I have to say: I heard Sean doing a voice-over on some TV commercial recently, and he sounded so mush-mouthed that it was like a parody of Sean. What's he storing in those cheeks? Nuts for the winter???

He usually picks good material, but The Astronaut's Wife was less than stellar. He made the most of his part, however.

He made some terrible ones when he was younger. Look for a movie called "Cry Baby." He starred, and it was dreadful. He was the only good part, of course.

but my husband (who is VERY loyal...to a fault) will rent any VHS/DVD with Eric Roberts or Rutger Hauer based on years ago faves Runaway Train and Blade Runner. Do you know how many horrible straight to video movies these guys have made? Well, I think the rental costs would be enough for a European vacation.

I sat through 'Phone Booth' and 'SWAT' just to watch him for 2 hours.
I haven't decided yet if he's as good an actor as I think he is, or if I just think he is because I have a serious case of infatuation.
At present, however, it doesn't much matter to me either way.
I could very happily climb up one side of him and down the other.
