She 5 months pregnant, and has the condition (I forget the name) in which the placenta is completely wrapped around the baby. She's on bed rest until further notice.
Good vibes would be appreciated.

healthy baby, healthy Mama vibes to you all. Let us know how she comes along.
Is it placenta previa? Bedrest is a very good thing in these cases.
Hugs, and more hugs, Laura

Prayers and a  on the way. I hope it all goes well. I've known a few women who spent months in bed and had healthy babies. Good luck.

20. I had placenta previa during my pregnancy, but the... |
|
condition corrected itself before birth.
It isn't that uncommon. It just means that the place where the umbilical cord is attached to the uterus wall is over the uterus opening where the baby will have to emerge.
If it doesn't correct itself, your sister will probably be scheduled for a section when the baby is near term. It is a condition that can be managed.
The greatest risk is that the placenta can detach and that can cause serious bleeding problems and possible miscarriage. That is why your sis's obstetrician put her on bedrest. The doc will check her frequently to see if the umbilical attachment is moving. As the baby grows, it usually does.
Please keep us updated.
