Here's what Howard Dean's own mom says about him
Dean's agenda is widely recognized by those who know him; Dean's own mother recently confessed to a Time magazine reporter that her son is not a liberal, saying, "He's not really … I just hope they don't find that out just yet."

14. Fruit don't fall too far from the tree!
Mom wants to deceive the public, and so does Howard.

But through the magic of technology, we can see what Howard really thinks by reading what he said about his personal political philosophy back a few years ago, when he was governor of Vermont:

Dean's own words are in bold print below:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Most of the Democrats in the legislature rebelled against Dean over the budget cuts, and he ended up depending on Republican votes to pass most of his proposals. At the time, a local Vermont newspaper wrote, "The biggest items on Dean’s agenda for next year are likely to provoke more opposition from the Democrats than the Republicans. Nevertheless, Dean said he feels no particular pressure to deliver the goods to his party or to promote the Democratic agenda."15

In the mid-1990s, Dean even aligned himself with the likes of Republican Newt Gingrich on his stance on cutting Medicare. He opined at the time, "The way to balance the budget is for Congress to cut Social Security, move the retirement age to 70, cut defense, Medicare and veterans pensions, while the states cut everything else."16
....
The Rutland Herald described how one protestor, Henrietta Jordan of the Vermont Center for Independent Living, "said it would be much fairer to raise taxes on people with expensive homes and cars, children in private school and a housekeeper at home than to cut programs that helped the 66,000 Vermonters living with disabilities."17 Dean responded callously, brushing off the pleas of Vermont’s most vulnerable by saying, "This seems like sort of the last gasp of the left here."18"

Every Presidents family since Washington's has been an issue. Why should it be different for Dean? Dean always wants to be held to a different standard. America deserves a higher standard.

40. Welcome to Politics 101.
"This equal emphasis on creating jobs, balancing budgets, and expanding government's social activism sums up Dean's approach to the office he has held longer than anyone in this century.... Dean's stunning political success -- five re-election bids, none of them close -- has been built on that balanced approach to government." The Burlington (Vermont) Free Press 09/13/01

That sums it up nicely.

41. I think there is some truth to that...
....if the people demanded it, he would be a progressive politician when running for election. And once in office, he would probably be an effective president. But the problem is that we need something more than that. We already have scads of effective politicians. We a need a counterweight, someone at the top with liberal principles, the better to drive policy and to educate the voters and to lead us to a better country. Dean comes from a privileged background and it shows. Why on earth would I want him to represent me? He represents the investors and the wealthy more than me. We already have plenty of politicians like that.
