Anybody remember the punk band FEAR?
*Let's Have A War* by Fear

Let's have a War
So you can all Die.
Let's Have a War
We can all use our Brains.
Let's Have a War
Redeem this space.
Let's have a War
We have this place.

Let's have a War
Jack up the Dow Jones
Let's have a War
We can save New Jersey
Let's have a War
Blame it on the Middle Class
Let's have a War
Like rats in a cage.

Let's have a War
Sell the rights to the networks
Let's have a War
Nevermind about that last time.
Let's have a War
Give life a little twist.
Let's have a War
The Enemy's Within......

4. Wrongo
The lead singer "Lee Ving" turned into a b-actor.
Played the heavy in several cheese ball flicks before gary Busey took that crown.

5. A White Supremacist with a black and hispanic dude in the band?
Something tells me you were the victim of Mr. Lee Ving's sarcastic humor at some point.

I have also heard many a rumor from those involved in the LA punk scene that he was gay as well.

Was he politically incorrect? Oh yeah. Definitely. A White supremacist? I don't think so.

15. All rumors and innuendo.....
Who knows. At this point all that crap is urban legend. Could have been angry New York punkers spreading the rumor.

9. Ok, I KNOW Lee....
He's a bit of a protectionist but not a supremacist. Some of the toughness is schtick.

He sings on this very patriotic song my SO wrote some ways back.

Check it out. Don't Tread on Me

FEAR on SNL

http://www.sol-i.tv/Spit/docs/5a.html

We played Saturday Night Live, Halloween 1981 – thanks to John Belushi.

We had no record deal, but there we were on national TV.

Belushi, (who by this time was already off the show), appeared at the beginning of the show as a trade off for letting our "dancers" on SNL.

The union crew had walked off during FEARs rehearsal, refusing to work because they "didn't need to take this punk crap".

Producer, Dick Ebersol, ended up with rotten pumpkin all over his nice silk crew jacket and our last song was cut off when someone shouted "Fuck New York" and "New York sucks" live into one of the mics.

SNL claimed $200,000 damage in the NY Post the next day and we were industry mud for about a year; but we were kings on the street.

19. Avengers were from San Francisco
http://www.randysrodeo.com/punk/avengers.php

But they were a West Coast Punk Band-and a damn good one! :-)

I saw X, Black Flag, Agent Orange, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies, TSOL and Social D (I'm almost 40 :scared:).

But I also saw many of the second wave of Left Coast bands like the Angry Samoans, Descendents, and Redd Kross. It was quite a great time to be young!

23. MA and almost 40?
Then maybe you remember...

The Underground.
Cantones.
The Paradise (before it went dance/Euro trash).
Jaspers.
McNastys/Jumping Jack Flash
The Rat.
Fathers I, II, III.
Bunrattys.
The Channel.
Lupos.
Metro.
Club III.
Green St. Station.

I know there's a few more I'm forgetting, but I'm 47, tired and partying during all those club days has had a detrimental effect on my memory. :)
