Yeah I can help with info.
Show Low is pretty hostile territory for a liberal. But some of the surrounding towns, like Snowflake, Taylor, and Heber-Overgaard, are even worse. Pinetop-Lakeside and Springerville are friendlier but still lean Republican (Springerville because it's somewhat unionized due to the power company being a major employer, see below for Pinetop-Lakeside.)
I'd recommend Pinetop-Lakeside as the least bad place to live in the area. It's adjacent to the Apache reservation, 15 minutes from Show Low, and, like Flagstaff, Prescott, Tucson, and some other places in the state, seems to be attracting a lot of retirees and people interested in "quality of life" issues (hence has a high potential of swinging over into the D column in the future.)
Apache County, Navajo County, Coconino County, and Greenlee County are all among Arizona's strongest Democratic counties, but for some reason the greater Show Low area is among the most hostile Repuke territory in the state (probably because of the heavy Mormon influence.)
If you want specific info on other things PM me or reply here.
But move here before November - we need every Democratic vote we can get in CD-1 to boot Rick Renzi out of Congress!!! :)
