I'm not a big fan of the '60s pop group the Association, but I just heard a tune of theirs on college radio about which I had completely forgotten: the anti-war song, "Requiem for the Masses." And I gotta say, it really ain't a bad record!

It was the final verse that really grabbed me:

Black and white was the newsprint that reported him.
Black and white were the figures that recorded him.
Black and white was the question that so bothered him.
He never asked, he was taught not to ask,
But it stayed on his lips as they buried him.

Unfortunately, those lyrics hit way too close to home for me!

A chilling song. I'll never forget it. First time I heard it to today, it still sends chills up my spine.

I have never been able to find an accurate translation of " Rex Tremendae Majestatis?"...have you?

I've tried the web translation sites, but I get mixed results.

although I haven't heard anything for a while (my whole collection is on vinyl dont'cha know).

8. I've been trying to figure out the INTENSE Association song that I have

heard and wanted to buy..I wonder if that was it.

BTW..the lyrics to Pandora's Box and ALong Comes Mary are pretty intense too! I like those guys...always have.

Hard to believe they could do those really incredible songs and then do WINDY!
