I'd get a disposable like a TracFone or Virgin pay-as-you-go.

Just follow those steps and depending on the closest retailer you could be up
and running very quickly.

(*snort* You'd think I worked for these guys. )

6. The owners' manual for my Motorola was written in English, sorta.
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 07:10 PM by trof
I think it was originally written in Chinese, then translated into Sanskrit, that translated into Korean, and then THAT translated into English.

Oh, and it shows buttons my phone doesn't have.

I can't even figure out how to get into my voicemail and I used to fly a freakin' 747!

I can make a call and receive one and that's about as far as I can get.

Bother.
:grr:

I can see you saying the words, "Yeah, if I had three eyes and four arms!"

8. Very close. I said 'buttons', I meant 'icons' I guess.
It shows an icon that is supposed to represent a button, but that icon isn't on my phone.
It really is a pain in the ass.

10. Not tryin' to be nosy
What are you using it for? I use mine primarily for long-distance calls from my house, and then to have in the car for safety reasons. Thus, coverage from our house was important. T-Mobile and Cingular had really sucky coverage from our house...to make a call we had to stand on the back porch with our hand on a post in a certain position to make a call. OTH, Verizon gives us excellent coverage from anywhere in our house, and we don't have to go out in undesirable weather to make or receive a call. I'm not endorsing Verizon over the others, just pointing out that you have to consider your priorities. If you have friends with cell phones, ask to borrow them to check out the reception signal for whatever purpose you need one for.

Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 07:59 PM by mainegreen

The jitterbug one touch! Screw features and numbers! Five buttons and if you want to make a call, press operator and ask for the number!
