Tornado, tornado-should I call in?
We've taken cover once and the second time was for south of the county. Brian on the news (the weather guy)says this will be an all-night event.

What do you think? Should I call in? Chances are my parents will have to stay really late at work because of taking cover and won't make it home in time for me to go in. And I don't see anyone leaving the house to babysit tonight.

1. I freak out over tornadoes, so I would.
If your parents don't get back, what can you do? I hope the tornadoes stay away.

2. I just paged oncall.
I know they'll scream at me but who cares? I'm looking for a new job anyway.

4. I have to work tonight at 10:30 pm.
And I have a weather alert radio-it's gone off nonstop but it's been for the southern part of the county.

My parents are a bit further south at work for now. They don't know when they'll get home.

And I hope your parents are okay. GOOD LUCK. Do you have a basement? Just stay down there with that weather radio and the TV on. Does your city have a siren that you can hear?

9. We just came up again.
And work has already called, wanting me to come in immediately. I can't and I refuse to take my daughter out in this weather (like they want me to do).

10. We just came up again.
Supposedly it's now just straight-line winds and hail.

By morning we will have snow flurries. (Not kidding-that's the forecast. 65 today and tornadoes, in the morning snow.)

14. I'm in Alberta
Believe me, I understand crazy weather. :)

(I think you'd need a cold front hitting a warm one to produce tornadoes...)

Thank goodness, tornadoes aren't very common here - but the ones we've had have been doozies.

15. Yes, you do need those conditions.
Tornado season started a week early for us this season. It's normally March 1 but we had a touchdown in our county last weekend.

11. That's that same horrible storm they say is coming here
tomorrow. :scared: Stay safe. Human lives mean more than any job. Stay safe. Tell your boss to come and get you if they want you there that bad. They'll change their minds right quick like about it then.

12. They would get me
and they'd expect me to either leave my daughter at home w/ no one around or they'd expect me to take her in to work w/ a few adults (mentally challenged) who are panicking about the storm.

It's a lose-lose either way.

13. Plan B.
Hunker down in the basement or innermost room of your house and tell the boss to go fuck themselves. Later, claim the spirit of Dick Cheney possessed you at the time.

Stay safe.

And, PM me about those cookies. I'll buy some. My family loves those suckers.

18. Thank goodness it's now over.
It was horrible last night and we have some DU'ers now experiencing this same storm. It's a nasty one!

And I sent you a pm.
