neighbor's dog been barking for 3 hours now
so, I complained about this here the other day, the dog was barking and kept waking the baby. NOW I know why. The have left the poor dog tied up outside while they're gone! WTF is wrong with these people? It's fucking 20 outside! He also keeps setting my dogs off. So, this is the first time I've noticed they're leaving him outside. He's been to our yard to sniff around our girls, and the neighbor always comes and gets him. Last time they told us they we're taking care of the dog for a family member for a couple of months. It's been like 4 months now. I am so close to calling the sheriff's dept.

1. call the local humane society and sheriff.
a dog left outside in 20 degree weather is cruel and inhumane treatment.

2. We used to have neighbors who did the same thing, no matter what the temp.
Happily, they moved soon after they got the dog.

5. I know. His name was Brutus and he was a sweet animal.
The good news is that the family moved to Texas so at least poor Brutus got away from the cold.

10. Before You Call the Sheriff
Make a final effort to let them know the incessant barking is unacceptable. Perhaps suggest a muzzle or two?

Cut little pieces of meat and push them under the door... And you could find a racist to short the 120V.

12. I have a friend who had the same situation.
She got new neighbors. They were keeping their dog outside and tied up ALL the time. She talked to them about it. They said that they were from Alabama and had always left their dog outside. When it got cold enough, my friend called the police. Now the dog has a good indoor home.

15. Call the Humane Society.

These buttheads don't deserve a sweet dog like him.
They are incapable of taking care of an animal.

All I can say to you is I wish you luck, and let you know that the dog I was discussing no longer exists in my world.

That's all I'm going to say about that.

20. I have a similar problem.
I'm buying a "No Parking, Police Take Notice" sign Turning the P in Parking to a B and nailing it to my fence facing into their yard. I hope they can read.

21. Our neighbors with the insanely barky dog moved out 2 days ago
I got home yesterday to see 2 police cars in their driveway. We still don't know what happened, but the chain of events started when the s.o. called me at work to tell me the dog was back and there were no cars in the driveway. I said to call animal control, which the s.o. did.

After that, we're left to guessing that the AC person called police, 2 cop cars showed up, the guy with the dog showed up. There wasn't any drama that we could tell, but at one point one of the cops left, the neighbor left, and the remaining cop put the dog on a great big strong leash and sat with him in ther backyard until the guy returned. There was a cop there for well over an hour. They never came over to talk to us.

I really don't care for those (ex) neighbors, because they were warned dozens of time to get the dog under control and bring it in the house when it barked. I feel really sorry about the dog, who was looking at the s.o. with that "can I come live with you?" expression on his face before the call to animal control. It's not fair to the dog.

I fondly hope your situation resolves itself without uncessary drama. It's been really quiet over here the past 2 nights, and I hope you get to enjoy that as well.

22. please call animal control
Just do it. They can't fix the problem if they aren't aware of it.
