I'm in dire need of some exercise, but I haven't pushed myself to go get it...which only makes me feel worse about myself. :banghead: I'm signed up to ride in an organized century bike ride (100 mi in a day)on the 10th down in Solvang and there's noooo way I'm ready for it. I had the flu for 2 1/2 weeks and I just haven't fully bounced back yet. At the best, I'll be able to crank out half a century. Plus, we've had a lot of rain here lately, which has also affected my training time.

In addition, my 7th grdr son is really blowing it in school lately, which has me deeply concerned and feeling inadequate as a parent. He's normally an A or B student and right now he's getting a C- and D in three of his classes! I've asked the right questions, or so I think, and he assures me he's NOT being bullied, he's feeling fine, he's NOT depressed, etc...He's just getting lazy and not taking the time to show his work, be neat, study, manage his time well, all that crap...As you may remember, I recently decided to keep him from the annual mens' ski w/e with his Dad. I'd hoped he'd be cleaning up his academic act by now, but it's not working. I'm not sure what to do, short of continuing to heap consequences on him, ie, no computer time, no TV, no anything. Sigh....It's all new territory to me, I've never had these sorts of problems with him before.

Anyway, that's my shit today, in a very small nutshell. :( I'll get over it. I just need to change my perspective a bit....

Called me yesterday (the person on the phone identified themselves as with the company; that's all-did not specify that he was a tech or anything else); and said they were going to have to disconnect tomorrow. I explained my situation to him -no car; husband working all day every day until 9 since he's working 2 hours away-I can't get the money to the bank until Friday. He said fine; I go on vacation Friday so I will get your payment Monday. We hang up.
Here comes three in the morning and my cable is shut off. This would not be a crime except for the fact that my three year old likes Noggin for a few during the day and dammit; I'm home all alone all day every day and yes, I do like my tv. (bad liberal! no cookie!) So I call the company and they say that I will have to talk to the tech -after telling me that was who I had talked to earlier in the day, I thought it was the company rep-that this is an automated computer thing.
Here comes seven in the morning and I talk to the tech. He says he has no control over this and the computer automatically shuts it off. So I ask him, what is the difference between the computer disconnect and your kind of disconnect? He says he would be coming out to take my equipment.

How was I supposed to know the difference? No one explained this to me on the phone (him-initially) or on paper (I checked the bill). I know I figured this out, but it took me 3 or 4 phone calls to do. WHat the fuck??

I just need a week to refuel at this point. :)
