FDA Approves Vaccine For Carsick Dogs
NOT MANDATORY! I repeat ... NOT MANDATORY!

but  nonetheless ;)

<snip>

WASHINGTON -- Most dogs are as happy as can be when riding in the car.

But if it makes your four-legged friend woozy, help is on the way.

The Food and Drug Administration is approving the first drug to keep dogs from vomiting when they get motion sickness.

Cerenia will be available in two forms. There's a tablet -- if you can get your Fido to actually swallow it.

Otherwise, there's an injection.

Either way, you'll have to have the vet approve its use.

1. BIG PHARMA is out to KILL us ALL
This vaccine will KILL DOGS. PERIOD. Because I say so, without any real evidence to back that up. If you disagree with me, you must be some kind of Republican mole who works for the pharmaceutical industry spreading disinformation.

3. Giving this to dogs will only encourage them to ride in cars more
Besides, the NIH says that carsickness in dogs isn't really a problem. So dogs that get carsick must be morally bankrupt and probably deserve it.

5. And only 2% of dogs get it
so it's a manufactured problem, doesn't really exist. And, the vaccine will only prevent 70% of dogs from ralphing, so it must be useless!

4. And now we'll see increased rates of
Autism in dogs! And bunions, and auto-immune disorders.

8. Seriously
I had a dog who would start shaking and drooling at the thought of getting into a car. Usually all it took was 2 minutes in a car and he was horking kibble all over the seat. Made it real fun to take him to the vet, especially when he developed cancer, when we couldn't fast him for 24 hours and give him a tranquilizer for the 10 minute car ride.

Man, this drug would have saved a lot of time and carpet cleaner!
