Its either that or Potato suffed with crab and shrimp and a side salad, or Shrimp Creole Over Rice. We eat out a couple of times a week and the menu of the lil place up the road changes weekly. Maybe one of each?

4. Just one of life's little pleasures
enjoyed in small quantities and not very often. I'm very fond of peanut butter and jelly. Smooth Jif and grape; excellent on a hamburger bun.

6. I made muffalletta's last weekend
Ham, genoa salami, bologna (or mortadella if you can find it) swiss, pepperjack and provolone cheeses, topped off with a handsome batch of Boscolli's Italian Olive Salad. The bread is the hardest part. I use large buns but just haven't been able to duplicate the original without taking a long drive. And lettuce if you please.

We prefer Frank's to Central Grocery. They are about three doors down. Central is a great little grocery but Frank's makes a killer Muffaletta.

The restaurant is in south Pearl River County Mississippi. The owners lived on the northshore and were displaced by Katrina. Our gain.

I think you should come on down and stroll Decatur, grab a Muffaletta of your choice, a Barq's rootbeer and sit out on the riverwalk.

8. color me jealous
I had a friend laugh at me when I requested that they bring me back a muffaletta "all the way from New Orleans" a couple of years ago. Needless to say, she ate one and brought three back with her when she came. Now everytime someone we know goes to NOLA we ask them to bring back 2 sandwiches.

I really need to get back to New Orleans. I lived in Metarie, but I have not been back since 2004.

10. NOLA food made for an interesting story
because of the increased security at airports. Lots of people haul back Muffalettas (they travel better then po-boys) and they were having them inspected. Tacky, tacky, tacky. That practice has stopped. We get to the quarter a half dozen times or more and love every trip. There is no way one could hit every restaurant unless you lived to be a 120.
