Wowza! 17 years! Baby's really growing up. I can't believe how much time has passed since I first held you. Today I am playing "Brown Eyed Girl" and sobbing and sobbing, and then doing the dishes, and then sobbing again.

You are a young woman to be proud of, and you've done it on your own. You are a good friend; standing up for those who can't or won't stand up for themselves. You've offered friendship to people I want to rip the lungs out of for treating you badly. You are open enough with me so that I know you're "okay", more so than I felt I could be with my own mother.

You are a terrific big sister. You put up with a boy that loves you one moment...and then harasses you the next. Keep in mind that he loves you, even when he's shoving you to get to the car first. If he didn't love you he wouldn't walk around in a Magglio t shirt even though his favorite player is Pudge.

It is a pleasure being in your world. Watching you grow up and really know so much more about yourself and who you are than I did at your age. You have done a wonderful job walking your life's path. Never have you given me a sleepless night. Often you have given me tears of such happiness I can't put them into words right now. I don't know why you would WannaBeMe...when you, yourself, are so very awesome,.

And always, always...you are loved.
